ORANGEBURG, N.Y. – The Thomas Jefferson University softball team (11-19, 10-10 CACC) picked up another two key conference victories on Saturday, sweeping a doubleheader at Dominican.
GAME ONE – W, 5-3
Both teams tallied a run in the opening inning.
Sam Gomez recorded an RBI single for the Rams and the Chargers hit a solo homer. Jefferson went ahead again in the fourth on an RBI base hit by
Victoria Juckniewitz. Dominican went in front with a pair of runs in the fifth. The Chargers registered their second home run of the day and scored on an error.
Down to their last at-bat in the seventh, the Rams rallied for three runs to go ahead 5-3. Juckniewitz started the frame with a single.
Winnai Hoyt was hit by a pitch and
Julia Heine hit an infield single to load the bases. Gomez followed with a two-run, go-ahead single through the right side. Jefferson was able to load them up again and
Sage Bolonski drew a walk to bring in an insurance run.
Gianna DeLorenzo retired the Chargers in order in the bottom of the seventh to seal the win.

GAME TWO – W, 4-2
The two squads pushed a run across in the first once again in the nightcap.
Winnai Hoyt scored on a fielder's choice for Jefferson and Dominican evened it up on a sacrifice bunt. The Chargers led off the bottom of the third with a long ball and went ahead 2-1.
The Rams responded with three runs in the fourth. The bases were loaded for
Sage Bolonski, who plated
Cayla Kalani with a groundout.
Ali Murphy scored on an error to give Jefferson the lead and
Sam Gomez made it 4-2 with an RBI double to left.
Gianna DeLorenzo allowed just two baserunners over the last four frames and retired the final nine hitters she faced in closing out the victory.

CACC PLAYOFF PICTURE
With four games remaining in their conference slate, the Rams currently sit in a tie for sixth place in the CACC. The race for the top eight is tight as fifth through ninth in the standings are separated by just one game.
