PHILADELPHIA – After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the prestigious Penn Relays returned this week for the 126
th running of the event and the Thomas Jefferson University men's and women's track & field teams had their moment on the Franklin Field track on Friday evening.
Both squads competed in the 4x400 meter relay Eastern event. The women's team of
Sadie Horner,
Sarah Brennan,
Lydia Shaw, and
Ana Eshraghi took second in their heat and 15
th overall with a time of 4:21.86. The crew narrowly missed surpassing the school record of 4:21.70, which was set at the previous Penn Relays in 2019.
The men's relay clocked in at 3:33.22, the fastest time for the Rams since 2005. The team of
Obinna Okorie,
Franklin Rodriguez,
Leonard Bustos, and
Mike Keough finished fourth in their heat and 24
th overall.

Members of both teams are set to compete in either the Lions Invitational or the Carol & John Covert Classic on Saturday, April 30.
