PHILADELPHIA – The Thomas Jefferson University volleyball team (9-2, 4-1 CACC) had a 3-0 triumph over visiting Felician (1-14, 1-4 CACC) on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rams were ahead 10-9 in the opening set before scoring four in a row. However, the Golden Falcons rallied for five straight points to even the score at 14. Jefferson got back in front and held an 18-15 advantage but Felician went on a 7-1 run to take a 22-19 lead. The Rams recovered and tallied six of the next seven points to win the set, 25-23.
The two sides were even at six in the second frame when Jefferson took control with a 5-0 surge. The Golden Falcons only got within four the rest of the way and the Rams claimed the set, 25-18.
In the third, Jefferson nursed a one-point edge (4-3). The Rams then broke it open with a 15-1 stretch, including 11 in a row at one point, to pull away to a 19-4 advantage. Jefferson went on to wrap up the match with a 25-15 victory.
