PHILADELPHIA – The Thomas Jefferson University men's basketball team (7-6, 3-1 CACC) put up 57 points in the first half and made it stand for a 95-78 win over Felician (4-9, 0-4 CACC) at home on Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Golden Falcons netted the first bucket of the game but the Rams came back with the next 10 points for a 10-2 advantage.
Bismark Nsiah scored five of the 10 for Jefferson. Felician was within six (12-6) before the Rams went off for a 25-4 run to open a 27-point cushion (37-10) with 8:50 left in the half.
Erik Timko led the way with 13 points. Jefferson led by as many as 28 in the period and took a 57-31 advantage into halftime. The Rams shot 59.5% (22-of-37), including 55.6% (10-of-18) from long distance, in the frame.
Jefferson continued to pull away from the Golden Falcons to start the second half, posting 11 of the first 13 points for the Rams' largest lead of the contest at 35 (68-33). Felician was able to whittle the deficit down to 21 (80-59) midway through the half but that was the closest that Jefferson would allow until the final three minutes.
