PHILADELPHIA – Thomas Jefferson University volleyball team (11-7, 8-0) had their second matchup with Holy Family University this season. They replicated their results as the Rams swept the Tigers in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action this Wednesday night to give them their fifth consecutive win and eight straight conference victory this season.
 
WHAT HAPPENED
The Rams and Tigers both were even to begin the first set, being even at 6-6. Jefferson would take a 6-3 run to push themselves ahead 12-9. Holy Family would not be held down, tying the game at 13-13 and being only behind by one point before the Rams took the next four points. Jefferson would conclude the first set with a 5-2 run to take it 25-17.
 
The Rams would get out ahead early in the second, taking seven of the first nine points of the set. After trading points back-and-forth, the Tigers would go on a five point swing to be behind 14-12. Three straight points put more of a cushion for the Ram's lead, and eventually went ahead 20-14. After Holy Family earned a point, Jefferson took the last five and won the second set 25-15.
 
Looking to keep this game going, Holy Family went ahead early in the third set 5-3, then took the next five points to add to their lead 10-3. The Rams would then go on a 8-1 run to even the score at 11-11. Two straight points from the Tigers gave them the lead, but five more points in a row put Jefferson ahead once more. After continuous trades, the Rams earned five of the last six points in the set to earn a 25-18 win in the third and complete the sweep over Holy Family
