Eshraghi Places First and Wins CACC Runner of the Year, Six Rams Named All-Conference as Women's Cross Country Takes CACC Championship 


PHILADELPHIA, PA. - Ana Eshraghi finished first in the CACC Championship race, naming her Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Runner of the Year with six Rams being recognized as CACC All-Conference as the Thomas Jefferson University women's cross country team finished first place and took the CACC Championship this Saturday morning. This is the 13th CACC Championship the women have won since 2008. 

WHAT HAPPENED 
Jefferson had all six of their runners finish in the top 16 of the event, garnering them 39 points on the day, with Chestnut Hill finishing second with 90 points. Eshraghi finished first in the race, the first time a Ram has won the individual race since 2014 when Emilie Barton placed first. This is also the fourth time a Jefferson runner won the event with Sarah Simonetti, who was inducted into the CACC Hall of Fame this afternoon, finishing first twice in 2010 and 2011.  

Eshraghi finished with a 19:58.71 time on the day, giving her a sub 20 time on the event, her best personal time in the 5k, and earning her the CACC Runner of the Year award. She also earned All-Conference Honors. Following her was Sarah Brennan, who also finished with a personal best time with a 20:58.63 time as she placed fifth. Audrey Pham finished ninth on the day, running a 21:20.53 time which also was a personal best in the 5k. 

Lydia Shaw was the fourth Ram who earned All-Conference honors as she finished 11th with a 21:25.75 time. Olivia Monahon and Annalee Capuano finished back-to-back at 13th and 14 with 21:38.18 and 21:40.27 times respectively. Natalie McFadden rounded the Rams runners as she placed 16th with a 21:46.09 time.
