PHILADELPHIA – The Thomas Jefferson University men's basketball team (16-11, 12-5 CACC) cruised to a 102-65 victory over Holy Family (10-17, 4-13 CACC) in the regular season finale on Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The teams were tied at two when the Rams took over with an 11-0 run.
Erik Timko led the way with six points. The Tigers hit a three to get within eight but Jefferson answered with another nine in a row to lead by 17 (22-5) with 9:40 on the clock. Holy Family was able to get the deficit down to 13 (27-14) but the Rams closed out the half with a 12-5 stretch to take a 20-point cushion (39-19) into the break. Jefferson held the Tigers to just 20.7% shooting during the period (6-of-29).
The Rams kept up the strong play in the second half, opening the frame with a 21-9 surge to push the margin to 32 (60-28) with 13:46 remaining. Jefferson coasted the rest of the way with Holy Family only getting the difference down to 24.
