MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Thomas Jefferson University softball team (1-1) opened the season with a doubleheader split at Millersville (6-2) on Wednesday.
GAME ONE – W, 2-1
The Rams opened the scoring in the second.
Annalise Pudimott singled with one out, was bunted over to second, and scored on a base hit by
Tori Lipka. Both teams scored a run in the fourth. Jefferson took a 2-0 lead on Lipka's second RBI single of the game, this time with two outs. The Marauders got a run back on an error in the bottom of the inning. Millersville put the tying run in scoring position twice in the final three frames but
Angelina Sherba stranded the runners both times and picked up the save.

GAME TWO – L, 7-2
The Rams carried the momentum over into the first inning of game two, posting two runs in the opening frame.
Annalise Pudimott plated
Bridget Shields with a ground ball to the right side then later scored on a wild pitch.
Emily Akelaitis hurled four scoreless innings in the circle but the Marauders were able to put up a five-spot on the bullpen in the fifth. Millersville recorded a two-run double, an RBI two-bagger, a run-scoring base hit, and an RBI fielder's choice to take a 5-2 advantage. The home team tacked on two more in the sixth with a two-run home run.
