WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Thomas Jefferson University women's lacrosse team (1-2) fell at fourth-ranked West Chester (3-0) by a 19-10 score on Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The teams were even at one with 13:06 remaining in the first quarter. The Golden Rams then scored five in a row to finish the period and take a 6-1 advantage entering the second.
Ellie Lefton hit the back of the net to start the second quarter for Jefferson but West Chester answered with four straight to up the margin to eight (10-2).
Gabby Modzelewski tallied back-to-back goals to make it 10-4 before the Golden Rams recorded the last two markers of the half to lead 12-4 at the break.
WCU dominated the third quarter, outscoring the Rams 5-0 to increase its cushion to 13 (17-4). The score was 18-5 in the final period when
Lilly Kull netted three in a row for Jefferson, part of a 5-0 run that made it 18-10 with 3:21 to go. The Golden Rams had the last goal at the three-second mark.
