BROOKLYN – The Thomas Jefferson University baseball team (23-18, 12-7 CACC) got out to an early lead and cruised to a 9-1 victory at Alliance (2-41, 1-19 CACC) on Tuesday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rams took a 1-0 lead in the first on
Josh Lopez's RBI single. Jefferson then increased the margin to five with a four-run second. The Rams loaded the bases before
Chris McLean was hit by a pitch to force in a run.
Gabe Silva followed with a bases-clearing, three-run double to left.
Silva also threw six scoreless innings on the mound, allowing just three hits and walking one while recording nine strikeouts. Jefferson added a run in both the sixth and seventh innings before Lopez drove in two more with a base hit in the eighth to make it 9-0. Alliance spoiled the shutout bid with a sacrifice fly in the ninth.
