LAKEWOOD, N.J. – The Thomas Jefferson University women's lacrosse team (4-7, 3-2 CACC) dropped a conference contest at Georgian Court (6-6, 5-1 CACC) by a 15-11 score on Wednesday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rams got out to a 2-0 lead with goals by
Carina Raymond and
Audrey Strock. However, the Lions came back with three of the next four to even the score at three entering the second quarter. GCU took the lead a minute into the second period before Jefferson answered with back-to-back tallies for a 5-4 advantage. The Lions came roaring back with three straight goals to end the half and held a 7-5 edge at the intermission.
The Rams trailed 8-6 in the third quarter before GCU pulled away with a 5-1 run to finish the stanza. The Lions took a 13-7 lead into the final frame and made it 14-7 with a goal at the 12:22 mark. Jefferson rallied for four in a row to get within three (14-11) with 1:20 to play but Georgian Court controlled the ensuing draw and scored the final goal of the game to ice the win.
