Men's Soccer Unable to Overcome Early Deficit as They Drop to Bridgeport
BRIDGEPORT, CT. - The Thomas Jefferson University men's soccer team (1-4) would fall early in the contest and were unable to overcome the Purple Knights lead as they fall to Bridgeport University (2-2-2) 2-0 in Saturday evening action.
WHAT HAPPENED
Bridgeport would capitalize early in the contest as they scored on a free kick with less than two minutes into the contest to go up 1-0. The Purple Knights would extend their lead at the 26th minute as a shot in the middle would push them up 2-0. The Rams would try to get on the board as they attempted six shots in the first half, but none of them would find the back of the net.
The second half would see the Purple Knights trying to extend their lead as they would take seven shots compared to the Rams five. Jefferson would have five corners in the second half, but Bridgeport would be successful in their defensive scheme as they would hold on to the 2-0 win.
