Women's Soccer Makes History, Secures Spot in NCAA East Region Final Match 

GARDEN CITY, NY - Thomas Jefferson University women's soccer (19-1-2) defeated the top-ranked Adelphi University as they continue their historic season and march towards the championship match. The Rams extended their season-record winning streak to 20 games with a hard-fought 3-2 win against the Panthers. 

WHAT HAPPENED 

• The Panthers kick off the match with an early goal from Lola Kochanskyj assisted by Sophia Cataldo 

• Sarah Winnegar also takes a low center shot that was saved by Liv Riddel, marking her first save of the game 

• At the 24:20 minute Kiery Spatz intercepts the ball passing it to Nikki Dedes who then sends it back Spatz who sets it up for Alexa Callahan to tie to the match at 1-1 

• Mia Ferrara takes a low left shot to close out the half, but Peyton DeRouen collects the save  

• Kayleigh Goodrich is next to shoot for the Panthers, but Riddel is ready to defend the low right shot  

• Kyra Lesko and Veronica Lutz both take low center shots, but DeBouen defends both attempts  

• After a foul on Jessica Schmitt, Ferrara takes a free kick that she turns into a line drive goal giving the Jefferson their first lead over Adelphi 

• DeBlaiso had two shots blocked by Riddel, but her third attempt, set up by Romagno and Hellman, finally broke through the Rams' defense and found the back of the net to tie up score once again at 2-2 

• Quickly after Ferrara sets up for a corner kick which she sends to the center of the Panthers net where their defense can get the ball outside of the box,  Dillan Sorino is waiting and can regain the Rams lead once more scoring their third goal at the 82:36 minute  

• Adelphi is unable to tie of the score as the second half comes to a close making this the Rams 20th win in a row continuing their season to final match in East Region NCAA Tournament  
   

ONTO THE FINAL ROUND  
Women's soccer defeated top-seeded Adelphi for their second postseason win and 20th straight victory. The Rams have now advanced to the NCAA East Region Final match which is the further the program has gone in school history.
