Men's Basketball Holds First Half Momentum as The Rams Get The Victory Over Georgian Court

LAKEWOOD, N.J. - The Thomas Jefferson University men's basketball team (18-8, 10-4) had a 48-20 first half advantage that they would hold onto through the rest of the game as the Rams left GCU Wellness Center with a 91-73 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) South win against Georgian Court University (2-23, 0-14) in Saturday afternoon action.

WHAT HAPPENED
After the Lions were up 5-4, the Rams tacked on seven straight points behind two Antonin Kemkeng shots and an Erik Timko three pointer to put themselves up 11-5. The Rams would go on a 18-5 run that had Ahmed Barba-Bey and Kemkeng have multiple baskets and Timko going 2-2 from beyond the arc as he had eight points in the stretch to make it 23-10. The Lions would get 10 points the rest of the way, but Jefferson made sure they added to their lead as they had 25 points for the rest of the first half. Farouk Kaba and Bismark Nsiah got their shots in while Jeremiah Dorsey and Hakim Byrd made their three pointers down the stretch. Just Hawkins ended the first with two free throws as the Rams went into the break up 48-20.

The second half had both teams go back-and-forth in scoring, but the Rams eventually pulled out to a 11-0 run to put them up 61-27. Timko hit a three and Kemkeng converted on an and-one while Barba-Bey and Nsiah hit their baskets during that stretch. Georgian Court would slowly cut into the Rams lead, outscoring Jefferson in the second half 51-45. However, it was not enough to cut into the Rams lead as Georgian Court only were as close as 22 points to Jefferson. Hawkins would have three straight buckets in the middle of the half. Eventually, more players would join the scoring for Jefferson. Jack Moynihan hit a pair of three-pointers, Troy McGregor converted on two shots at the free throw line, and Cosby Napoleon finished an and-one, which saw all 11 Rams that got on the court have points. Jefferson would walked away from their conference match with the 91-73 victory.
