Behm Pitches Complete Game as Baseball Takes Win Back over Felician; Advances to CACC Championship Title GameÂ
WATERBURY, Conn. - Thomas Jefferson University baseball team (32-14) had an early rematch as they faced Felician University (29-23) once again after falling to the Golden Falcons 10-4 on Thursday. The Rams scored two runs in three straight innings as Tyler Behm pitched a complete game with Jefferson getting a 6-1 win over Felician to advance to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship Title game for the first time since 2021.Â
WHAT HAPPENEDÂ
The first three innings were scoreless for both teams as Felician had the closest runner to homeplate as they made second base in the third inning. The Golden Falcons got on the board first from a sacrifice fly to left field in the top of the fourth. Jefferson began their two-score run in the next three innings as a Joshua Lopez double put the first run on the board for the Rams as Josh Lopez made it to homeplate. An error off a Lou Spadafora bunt got Jefferson the 2-1 lead, putting them ahead of the Golden Falcons.Â
After getting Felician out of the top of the fifth, Jefferson added two more runs to their lead. J. Lopez nailed a single to right center for a Justin Egner score. Joshu. Lopez got J. Lopez to round the bases once more as a single to right field made it 4-1 in favor of the Rams. Jefferson got the next three Felician batters out and put two more runs up in the sixth with a Chris McLean sacrifice fly and a J. Lopez single to left field as the Rams secured the 6-1 advantage.Â
The Golden Falcons made one more attempt in the ninth as they had runner on third with two outs left. Tyler Behm was able to make a throw that the Felician batter hit to the shortstop for the final out that got the Rams back in the title game since 2016. Behm finished the contest with a complete game, pitching all nine innings while only allowing five hits, one earned run, and two strikeouts on the day.Â
