No.10 Women's Soccer Puts Up 10 Goals in Rout Against Lincoln
LINCOLN, Pa. – No.10 nationally-ranked Thomas Jefferson University women's soccer (12-1-1, 8-0-1) went on a roll in their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) matchup on Thursday against Lincoln University (Pa.) (0-13-1, 0-10-0). The Rams went on the offense all day, scoring 10 goals for the first time since 2009 as Jefferson won 10-0 over the Lions.
WHAT HAPPENED
- The first 10 minutes of action was very quiet with only two shots taken during that time. The flood gates opened as Kyra Lesko scored to make it 1-0 at the 11th minute
- The next two minutes saw two more shots make it to the back of the net by Isa Geoghan and Nikki Dedes. Lesko had two assists while Dedes earned one alongside Mia Ferrara
- Izzy Alexandre capped off the first half as she made her shot at the 28th minute to have their lead at 4-0 with the Rams holding that score to the half
- Jefferson continued the attack, attempting 16 shots in the second half. Dedes put two more goals at the 52nd and 59th minute mark with Lesko and Geoghan assisting the first score while Evelin Ventura-Garcia contributed to the second goal
- Ventura-Garcia got fouled in the box and capitalized with a penalty kick for a 7-0 lead. Tyler Connell, Sophia Henry, and Sarah Dogum all scored in the final 30 minutes of action with Jamie Webb assisting on the Henry goal to finish the game in a dominant 10-0 victory
- Kali Reddy did not face any trouble as Lincoln did not take one shot attempt while the Rams had 27 on the day
- This is the first time Jefferson has scored 10 goals in a game since 2009 and 11th for the program to have 10+ goals in a single contest since stats are recorded dating back to 1991. The last time the Rams did this was against the Lions on September 15, 2009 at Lincoln
