Women's Volleyball Keeps Playoff Spot Alive; Win in Four Sets Over Caldwell
CALDWELL, N.J. – Thomas Jefferson University women's volleyball (9-11, 5-6) currently is fighting for the last playoff spot in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) South division with only five matches left on their schedule. The Rams competed in one of those contests, heading on the road to go against CACC North opponent Caldwell University (0-20, 0-11). Jefferson got down in the first set but took the next three to win 3-1 over the Cougars in Saturday afternoon action.
WHAT HAPPENED
- Caldwell got off to a strong start over Jefferson, earning a 14-4 before finishing the first set 25-16
- The Rams did not go down easily, pushing back in the second set as they traded ties with the Cougars multiple times. Jefferson went to take seven of the final nine points to earn a second set 25-20 victory
- After the score turned into 10-8 in the third set in favor of the Rams, Jefferson went on a 13-4 run to earn the 25-13 set win. That trend stayed in the fourth as the Rams held on to a 25-17 set victory and had the series go in their favor 3-1
