Rams Surge Past Wilmington for Dominant Conference Win
PHILADELPHIA – The Thomas Jefferson University women's basketball team (17-6, 11-2 CACC) earned another well fought victory with a commanding 70-48 win over Wilmington University (0-22, 0-11 CACC) in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action on Wednesday night at the Gallagher Athletic, Recreation and Convocation Center.
WHAT HAPPENED
- The Rams wasted no time setting the tone, exploding for a 26-5 lead at the end of the first quarter. Jefferson's defensive intensity stifled Wilmington early, holding them to just two field goals in the opening period.
- The Wildcats found some rhythm in the second quarter, but Jefferson maintained control, taking a 39-18 lead into halftime.
- The Rams kept their foot on the gas in the third quarter, outscoring Wilmington 20-14 to extend their lead to 27 points.
- Despite a more competitive fourth quarter, Jefferson never relinquished their dominant advantage, securing another key CACC victory.
