No.18 Jefferson Baseball Dominates Dominican in Doubleheader Sweep
PHILADELPHIA – The No.18 nationally ranked Thomas Jefferson University baseball team (16-7) capped off their doubleheader sweep against Dominican University (12-12) with a 6-1 victory in game two on March 26, 2025. After a 9-4 win in the first game, the Rams sealed the double header with a well-rounded 6-1 performance, combining strong pitching with key hits to secure the win.
WHAT HAPPENED
GAME ONE: W, 9-4
Jefferson opened up the score in the first inning as Kyle Kozlowski single to left field brought Joshua Lopez in for their first run. Dominican surpassed Jefferson by one point in the top of the seventh, but Julio Frometa Gomez doubled to left center and allowed Justin Egner to score, tying the game. They extended their lead 6-4 as Javon Hernandez homered to left field and Joshua Lopez scored. The Rams upped their defense and earned three more runs in the bottom of the eighth to gain a comfortable lead. A strong defensive performance in the top of the ninth declared Jefferson's win 9-4 against Dominican.

A strong pitching performance from Gabriel Silva (1-1) kept Dominican off balance, while the Rams added runs in the second and sixth innings to extend their lead. Dominican managed only one run in the seventh, while the Rams completed the game with a 6-1 win.
