Men's Tennis Ends CACC Best-of-Three Series with Sweep Over Chestnut Hill
PHILADELPHIA – Thomas Jefferson University men's tennis (10-7, 3-0) ended their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) best-of-three series against Chestnut Hill College (4-13, 0-3) on Saturday afternoon action as the Rams defeated the Griffins 6-1.
WHAT HAPPENED
- Both teams kept the doubles points close as Jefferson won the third position while Chestnut Hill earned the first spot, leading to a tie breaker in the second game. Jules Thibault and Antonio Mateos Melenchon went to extra sets, taking the victory 7-6 (7-5) to have the Rams with an early lead heading into the singles action
- The Griffins tied it up with a retirement win in the sixth spot, but Jefferson ended up winning the next five singles matches with Anthony Moukarzel, Thibault, Enrique Soto Ballester, Mateos Melencho, and Filip Slavkovic all earned wins in their respective matches
