Women's Soccer Tabbed at #11 in United Soccer Coaches' Preseason Poll
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Thomas Jefferson University women's soccer comes into their 2025 campaign with high expectations as they were selected at No.11 in the United Soccer Coaches' (USC) Division II preseason poll last week.
The Rams completed their best season in program history last year, going 19-1-3 throughout the season. Jefferson earned multiple All-CACC players, won the conference title, earned their first NCAA victory in program history, and advanced to the NCAA East Regional Finals/Sweet 16. They broke multiple school records, given national recognition, and had two players named to the USC All-American Team.
Jefferson ranks 11th in the poll, which is where they were ranked in the final USC poll to end the year. Defending national champion Cal Poly Pomona earned the top-ranked spot with Columbus State University following behind at second. National runner-up Minnesota State University-Mankato placed third with Colorado School of Mines and Grand Valley State University selected at fourth and fifth respectively.
Franklin Pierce University, the team Jefferson went to penalty kicks with in the East Regional Finals, got placed at sixth. University of West Florida (seventh), Shepherd University (eighth), Point Loma Nazarene University (ninth), and Gannon University (tenth) round out the top-10.
The Rams will open their season on the road on Sunday, September 7 at 1:30 p.m. when they head to Sparkill, N.Y. to take on St. Thomas Aquinas University.
