Women's Volleyball Suffers Setback at Goldey-Beacom
WILMINGTON, DE. – Thomas Jefferson University women's volleyball (5-4, 1-1) looked to get themselves ready for more Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) South action as they went up against Goldey-Beacom College (5-7, 1-1) in Tuesday night competition. The Rams took the first set but were unable to secure the next three as they fell 3-1 to the Lightning.
WHAT HAPPENED
- After Goldey-Beacom went up 5-4, the Rams took 10 of the next 11 points to earn a 14-6 lead. The Lightning fought back and evened it out at 22-22. Jefferson took the final three points and earned the first set win
- The Rams looked to go up 2-0 as they had multiple runs to earn a 17-11 lead. Goldey-Beacom went on a 14-3 run to tie the series. The Lightning continued this in the third, jumping out to a 14-7 lead as they eventually won 25-18 and earned match point
- The Rams fell early on in the fourth, trailing as much as 11 points as it was 16-5 at one point. Jefferson clawed back but could not overcome the deficit as they fell 25-18 in the fourth set and were defeated by Goldey-Beacom 3-1
- Emily McKenna record 16 kills to lead the Rams. Meredith Adams produced 25 assists with Kate Hines adding 20 digs and four service aces
