#11 Women's Soccer Begins 2025 Campaign with Shutout Win

SPARKILL, N.Y. - No.11 nationally-ranked Thomas Jefferson University women's soccer (1-0) opens their 2025 season with a 4-0 shutout over St. Thomas Aquinas College (0-1) in Sunday afternoon action. 

WHAT HAPPENED 

• Rams controlled the game with their strong defense and relentless offense with 23 total shots on the day compared to the Spartans four. St. Thomas Aquinas had three of those shots in the first half while Jefferson took 11 

• Evelin Ventura-Garcia put the Rams on the board as she made her shot at the 29th minute. This was the lone goal in the first half, making it 1-0 at the break 

• Jefferson stepped up their game in the second, attempting 12 shots while only giving up one shot for the Spartans 

• Avery Nogami made quick work with her goal at the 51st minute. Kyra Lesko doubled that total with two goals at the 72nd and 87th minute, giving the Rams their 4-0 victory 

• Carly Hayman started her first game in her career, saving all four shots from St. Thomas Aquinas 

• This win gives head coach Michelle Jacquette her first win as the Rams head coach
