Women's Basketball Secures CACC Win Over Felician


PHILADELPHIA – After falling to the Golden Falcons back in November, Thomas Jefferson University women's basketball (13-6, 7-4) used their strong first half to take down Felician University (13-5, 8-3) 59-52 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action on Saturday afternoon. 

WHAT HAPPENED 

  • Jefferson got off to a hot start in the first quarter as they scored 20 points while holding Felician to only four. Carolyn Sipprell scored eight of her team-leading 14 points in the first. Emily Spratt followed her teammate, adding eight of her own points in the opening 10 minutes. Tori Nigro and Jordyn Thomas had a basket in the first 

  • The Golden Falcons would outscore the Rams in the next three quarter, but Jefferson kept Felician out of reach and held onto their lead for the rest of the game 

  • The Rams shot 46.7% on the floor while the Golden Falcons had 35.7 shooting percentage on the day 

  • Sipprell and Spratt scored 14 and 13 points respectively. Gabby Recinto added 12 points while Nigro had 11. Jordyn Thomas added eight of her own as well. Ane Valle led all scorers with 18 points for Felician
