NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Thomas Jefferson University saw both basketball teams earn themselves Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Weekly award winners for competition that ran through December 29 – January 4. Freshman Caleigh Sperling was named the Rookie of the Week for the women's team while junior Jeremiah Dorsey earned himself Defensive Player of the Week honors on the men's side.
 
CALEIGH SPERLING – CACC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Sperling secures her first weekly award in her career and season while giving the women's team their third winner on the year. This is the second time a Ram has secured CACC Rookie of the Week honors. Sperling averaged 11.0 ppg this week to help Jefferson go 2-0 against their competition. She began with 7 points and 4 rebounds against Bloomsburg. Sperling followed it up with 15 points off 6-of-10 shooting, 2-4 from three, and 6 rebounds in 27 minutes off the bench in the Rams 62-45 victory against Post.
 
JEREMIAH DORSEY – DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Dorsey takes home his first weekly award in his career, giving the men's team their first winner on the season. Dorsey scored 27 points, shooting 9-of-14 on the floor and 2-5 from the three-point line, while adding 6 steals and 2 rebounds in the Rams win over Pace.
