Men's Basketball Makes Comeback in Second Half; Takes Down Holy Family
 
PHILADELPHIA – After shooting 39% on the floor in the first half and trailing 31-23 at the break, Thomas Jefferson University men's basketball (8-5, 4-2) dropped 50 in the second half as they completed their comeback to take down inner city rival Holy Family University (6-8, 0-6) 73-64 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action on Tuesday evening.
 
WHAT HAPPENED
  • The Rams trailed the Tigers the entire first half. Jefferson had a better shooting percentage than Holy Family (39.13% to 34.38%) but were outdone in the three-point department (1-7 for Jefferson to 6-14 from Holy Family). The Rams trailed 31-23 at the break
  • Jefferson went down as much as 11 in the second half but railed to outscore Holy Family 50-33 in the second half. After tying it at 48-48, the Rams hit a three pointer to take the lead for the first time and never relinquish it for the rest of the game. The Tigers looked to fight back but Jefferson held them off to earn the 73-64 win
  • Jeremiah Dorsey led all scorers with 16 points on the night. Matt McCool and Brendan Mykalcio attributed 14 points apiece. Isaiah Thomas-McClain had a season high nine points, hitting the three-point shot to give the Rams the lead in the second half. He also led the team with seven rebounds. Dorsey added five assists and three steals to his night as well
