LAKEWOOD, N.J. (Oct. 21, 2026) – The Thomas Jefferson University women's volleyball rolled over the final five points to complete a four-set victory at Georgian Court University. In doing so, the Rams extended their winning streak to seven matches.
Junior Alexa Mork (West Chester, Pa. / West Chester East) paced a balanced Jefferson offense with a match-high 15 kills and added 13 digs to secure a double-double. Senior Emily McKenna (Drexel Hill, Pa. / Sacred Heart Academy) joined her with a double-double of her own, contributing 11 kills and 15 digs alongside two service aces and two assisted blocks. It's the second time in the last three matches McKenna has had at least 15 digs.
The Rams wasted little time establishing themselves against a game road foe in the Lions. A seven-point outburst broke a 6-6 tie in the opening set, giving Jefferson room to put its offense to work. The visitors finished the frame with 17 kills and a .333 hitting percentage, then added 15 more kills in the second. Jefferson closed that frame by taking seven of the final nine points to secure a two-set advantage.
The Rams' finishing ability came into focus, however, in the fourth set. Sophomore Gabby Titus (Williamstown, N.J. / Williamstown) delivered consecutive kills to launch the decisive five-point rally, and McKenna followed with another to pull Jefferson even at 23. Sophomore libero Kate Hines (Newark, Del. / Delaware Military Academy) then punctuated the comeback with a match-ending service ace. Titus finished with nine kills and a .300 hitting percentage.
Jefferson also received substantial production in the middle. Junior Liz Tanis (Abington, Pa. / Abington) totaled 11 kills and a team-high four assisted blocks, while fellow junior Pemi Areola (Kingwood, Texas / Kingwood) supplied 10 kills of her own on .292 hitting. Together, they helped give the Rams four players with double-digit kills and a fifth needing just one more, that player being Titus.
Freshman setter Lyllah Sapp (Bakersfield, Calif. / Frontier) kept all of her attacking options involved with 46 assists with an additional nine digs. It's the second time in the last two weeks she has eclipsed 45. Meanwhile, Hines anchored the defense with a match-high 27 digs while contributing two aces, including the final point of the night.
Head Coach Eric Schaefer and the Rams return to the Gallagher Athletic Center on Saturday, Oct. 24, to host the University of Bridgeport. Opening serve is scheduled for noon.
