Men's Basketball Holds Onto 90-80 Win Over Goldey-Beacom
 
PHILADELPHIA – In the first of their three straight home contests, Thomas Jefferson University men's basketball (14-11, 10-8) shot over 60% in the first half and made 20 baskets that propelled them to an 90-80 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victory against Goldey-Beacom College (17-8, 11-6) in Tuesday evening action.
 
WHAT HAPPENED
  • After the Lightning went up 8-2 in the game, the Rams went on a 26-9 run that gave them the lead that they wouldn't be relinquished
  • Jefferson kept their foot on the gas, making 20 baskets in the first half. The Rams had eight of those shots go from beyond the arc. They lead Goldey-Beacom by 12 at the break
  • The Lightning began to make a comeback as they got within one point of the Rams' lead. Jefferson began to get it back and make it as much as 16 before ultimately finishing the game with a 90-80 victory
  • Both teams attempted over 40 free throws in the second half
  • Jahmare Memphis keeps up with his performances, having a career-best 28 points on the evening. Sean Fullerton followed behind with 21 points while Isaiah Thomas-McClain and Shane Cercone added 13 points apiece
  • Tre Powell went off with a career-high 33 points for Goldey-Beacom

Jefferson will host their second straight home contest on Saturday, February 21 as the Rams welcome Caldwell University to the Gallagher Center. The game begins at 3:30 p.m. with the Rams honoring their seniors before the game as they celebrate Senior Day.
