Men's Basketball Earns Home-Playoff Match with Win Over Chestnut Hill in Regular Season Finale; Fullerton Eclipses 1,000 Points
PHILADELPHIA – Thomas Jefferson University men's basketball (16-11, 12-8) looked to secure a home contest in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship Tournament as they hosted Chestnut Hill College (8-18, 6-13) in their regular season finale in Wednesday evening competition. The Rams delivered a dominant first half that put them en route to a 82-72 CACC win over the Griffins.
WHAT HAPPENED
- Jefferson got out to an 11-6 lead off of three Jahmare Memphis three-pointers. Chestnut Hill kept inching closer to the Rams lead, getting within two points at 18-16 before using a 17-5 run to get ahead 35-21 with 6:34 left in the first half
- The Griffins got within 11 points of Jefferson's lead before four straight three-pointers and a layup by the Rams got their lead up to 17 at the break
- Chestnut Hill outscored Jefferson 40-33 in the second half, but never got beyond 10 points of the Rams lead in the final 20 minutes. Jefferson kept up their shots with layups and three pointers to keep their lead afloat throughout the game, finishing the night with an 82-72 win
- Jahmare Memphis landed a new career-high with 30 points on the night, his fifth straight game with 20+ points and first 30-point scoring spree, as he lead all scorers in that department. He produced 17 of those points in the first half, with 12 in the opening five minutes. Brendan Mykalcio added 13 points while Shane Cercone and Alex Bates IV joined in with 11 and 10 points respectively
- Alejandro Cybak led the Griffins with 17 points on the night. Amari Dow contributed with 16 points while Jeremiah Gorham put 12 points up for Chestnut Hill

Sean Fullerton eclipsed the 1,000-point milestone in his career. He has scored 578 of those points during his tenure at Jefferson. He is the first player on the team to make 1,000 in his career since 2023-24 season. Fullerton sits at 1,000 points and counting.
