WEST CHESTER, PA – Thomas Jefferson University men's track & field began their season on Saturday when they compete in the Purple & Gold Opener at West Chester. Olivia Grahn broke the school record for the 5000 meter race as nine Rams earned Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Qualifying marks on the day.
 
WHAT HAPPENED

• Grahn went to earn the school record for the 5000 meter race as she ran a 17:33.35 during the race, with second place being 1:11 behind her. She breaks the record that was set back in 2014 by Taylor Falvey, passing the mark by 53.15 seconds. Milana Daiute (19:02.94), Sarah Lorenz (20:12.02), and Ella Walsh (20:51.78) all joined Grahn with CACC Qualifying times
• Annalee Capuano and Natalie McFadden each had two Qualifying times apiece. Capuano led in the 800 meter race, taking second, with a 2:23.91 time with McFadden following behind as she earned a 2:25.41 mark. McFadden went to earn first place in the 1500 meter race with a 4:54.00 time while Capuano took second as she ran a 5:01.97 on the day. Isabella Gitto joins them both in the 800 meter race, earning sixth with a 2:27.47 time and qualifying for the CACC Championship
