Women's Basketball Concludes Season at Chestnut Hill
 
PHILADELPHIA, PA – Thomas Jefferson University women's basketball (17-12) began the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament on the road as they headed towards fellow Philadelphia school Chestnut Hill College (16-13) in Tuesday evening action. The Rams kept it competitive but ultimately fell to the Griffins 71-64.
 
WHAT HAPPENED
  • Jefferson kept up with Chestnut Hill early on as they outscored them 20-17 in the first quarter. The Rams shot over 57% in the opening 10 minutes to give them the lead
  • Second quarter was even as both squads had 12 points apiece as Jefferson was up by three at the break
  • The Griffins defense solidified itself in the second half, forcing the Rams to only make seven shots the next two quarters. Jefferson used 16 of their 24 free throws to keep them in the game
  • The Rams got within two points in the fourth quarter, but Chestnut Hill outscored them 19-14 the rest of the way
  • Emily Spratt led the way with 21 points on the night. Gabby Recinto contributed with 16 points whole Carolyn Sipprell added 11 on the scoreboard. Recinto recorded 15 rebounds with Jordyn Thomas following behind as she added eight of her own. Tori Nigro dished out four assists as well
  • Sabria Mann put up 18 points for the Griffins with Sara Tamoun (15), Tikyra Miller (14), and Tiayo Adelekan (12) all got within double digit figures
