Baseball Ends Four Game Contests Against Southern New Hampshire
ABERDEEN, Md. – Thomas Jefferson University baseball (1-6) played at Old Yankee Stadium at The Ripken Experience Abderdeen as they took on Southern New Hampshire University (8-4) in those contests. The Rams ended up going 1-3 versus the Penmen from the weekend.
WHAT HAPPENED – SATURDAY
GAME ONE: L, 15-0
- The Rams offense was unable to produce a run while the Penmen put up three runs in the first and fourth inning before having eight in the top of the sixth
- Southern New Hampshire put up one more in the seventh as Jefferson dropped the first game between both teams
- Saiben Rivera started the game and had four stirkeouts on the day. Cole Roschel pitched 1.2 innings with two strikeouts. Alex Miller finished the game for Jefferson, earning five strikes on the evening

- Southern New Hampshire once again got out to a sizeable lead, going up 7-0 after the top of the third. Jefferson got their first runs on the night as a Aleksei Goldhill double to the left field brought two runners into homeplate. Goldhill got a score of his own as a walk made it 7-3
- The Penmen added two more runs from a two-run homerun to centerfield, making it 9-3
- Kyle Kozlowski completed the scoring as a two-run single to center field made the game 9-5 on the day, with Jefferson taking their second loss to Southern New Hampshire
- Will Hoffman pitched 2.2 innings on the loss, allowing three hits and seven runs, with three earned, while taking down four batters
- Aiden Barbour went the rest of the way on the mound as he gave up four hits and two runs. Barbour ended with six strikeouts

WHAT HAPPENED – SUNDAY
GAME ONE: W, 5-4 (11 INNINGS)
- The Penmen got on the board off a two-run homerun by Dakota Britt at the top of the first inning. Jefferson responded with two RBI singles by Kozlowski and Jordan Tiburcio that evened the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the second
- Southern New Hampshire tacked two more runs in the fifth as Kyle Lavinge had a two-run single to the left side, making it 4-2
- The Rams responded to that with a two-run homerun by Tripp Capers to tie it at 4-4
- The game would head to extra innings with neither squad getting the advantage over the other for the most part. Jefferson eventually had their scoring chance in the bottom of the 11th as an error to firstbase, a single to center field, and a walk put Capers back at the plate. A hard hit to the shortstop gave him enough time to tag the bag and allow the winning run to homeplate, giving Jefferson a 5-4 win in game one of Sunday's doubleheader
- Jake Baumann started the game for Jefferson, pitching 4.2 innings while allowing six hits and four runs on the night with one strikeout. Tyler Behm came in relief for 2.1 innings as he had one hit given up while striking out six batters. Kevin Baex completed the game and earned the win as he didn't give up a hit while joining Behm with six strikeouts

- Both teams scored in the first inning, with Gabe Silva hitting a single to center field for the Rams first run. The Penmen took the lead in the second on a one-run double to left field. Southern New Hampshire put up three more runs in the fourth and had themselves a 5-1 lead
- Jefferson put two runs in the sixth as Andrew Holub had a one-run single to center field while Julio Frometa Gomez put two runners at homeplate off a single to right field. The Rams trailed by one run
- Southern New Hampshire got three run in the top of the seventh to be ahead 8-4. Jefferson had one more opportunity as a walk and a wild pitch turned the game around 8-6 with the Rams having the bases loaded. The batting was unable to knock a hit with their final two batters, completing their time at Maryland with an 8-6 defeat
- Patrick Karbach took the loss as he pitched 3.0 innings with four hit and five runs allowed, with only four being earned, while stirking out five Penmen batters
- Trey Eckman pitched the next three innings, giving up three hits and retiring two batters. AJ Lefton and Cole Roschel rounded out the final inning for Jefferson
