Thomas Jefferson University Rams Name Joe Dare Head Track and Field and Cross Country Coach

Philadelphia, Pa., (June 30, 2026) —
Thomas Jefferson University has named Joe Dare as its new head coach of the Rams Track and Field and Cross Country programs, Assistant Vice President of Athletics Corey Goff announced.

Dare brings an accomplished resume, strong ties to the Mid-Atlantic region, and a demonstrated ability to build competitive programs with a strong commitment to student-athlete development and success. Most recently, he served as Head Men's and Women's Cross Country and Track and Field Coach at Goldey Beacom College, where he led more than 50 NCAA Division II student athletes and oversaw a staff of assistant coaches, while cultivating a culture rooted in excellence, accountability, and growth.

Dare's leadership produced substantial competitive success including the 2025 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Team Championship, more than 100 school records, and 14 CACC champions. Dare was named CACC Coach of the Year in 2025 and earned Coach of the Year finalist honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association in both 2024 and 2025.

"Joe brings tremendous experience within our region and a demonstrated record of building successful programs the right way," Goff said. "He has consistently developed talent and built cultures that support excellence across cross country and track and field. As we look to redefine possible, Joe's vision embraces a modern and inclusive approach that will expand opportunities for student athletes by growing our roster, enhancing equity across event areas, and positioning us to compete for championships."

Prior to Goldey Beacom, Dare held head coaching positions at Gwynedd Mercy University and Cabrini University, and served as Head Cross Country and Assistant Track and Field Coach at Stockton University. At each stop, he developed high achieving programs, produced conference champions, and guided student athletes to regional and national recognition, including All America honors.

In his new role, Dare will work to develop a championship caliber program that builds on Jefferson's strong tradition in distance running while strengthening the program across all track and field disciplines.

Dare holds a Master of Science in Leadership from Cabrini University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from La Salle University. He is also a USA Track and Field Level 2 Endurance certified coach.

"A new opportunity, a new challenge, and a new team to believe in," Dare said of his new role. "I am honored to accept this coaching position at Jefferson and excited to build upon the winning tradition that has been established here."
