PHILADELPHIA Pa. (Sept. 9, 2026) – Led by sophomore
Alexa Pomeroy (Eastvale, Calif. / Pomona Catholic) and junior
Liz Tanis (Abington, Pa. / Abington), the Thomas Jefferson University women's volleyball team earned a second decisive victory over Lincoln University on Wednesday night, this time on their home floor at Herb Magee Court.
With four starters resting, Pomeroy and Tanis took on the brunt of the leadership responsibilities, particularly early. Pomeroy's career-high six services aces prevented the visiting Lions from garnering any sort of momentum, while Tanis' efficiency at the net (.500 hitting percentage, seven kills) also proved to be an unsolvable puzzle.
Pomeroy also had 11 kills in her own right, tying for the team lead along with sophomore
Gabby Titus (Williamstown, N.J. / Williamstown). Titus proved to be a huge beneficiary from the additional playing time, finishing with a .474 percentage behind her dominant counting stats. Collectively, Jefferson had 14 service aces over three sets, marking the most dominant service game the Rams have had all season over eight games where they have proven to be one of the CACC's top teams on serve. The Rams' attacking output otherwise proved to be condensed despite the quantity of players seeing the floor with five players registering kills.
Freshman setter
Lyllah Sapp (Bakersfield, Calif. / Frontier), who has twice been recognized as CACC Setter of the Week in as many weeks, played the first set and assisted on 12 kills in the Rams' most dominant set (25-7) before giving way to the combination of
Meredith Adams (Eau Claire, Wis. / Eau Claire Memorial),
Dani Fuller (Collegeville, Pa. / Spring-Ford) and
Ava Lowery (Denver, Colo. / Northfield). Meanwhile,
Jaylin Lott (San Antonio, Texas / Clark / George Mason University) took over at libero and proved capable with 12 digs.
Head Coach
Eric Schaefer and the Rams will play in one more invitational tournament this weekend at Lock Haven University as they then turn their attention towards the CACC slate. The first game of the weekend will come against Edinboro University on Friday, Sept. 11 at 1 p.m.
