QUEENS, N.Y. (Sept. 15, 2026) – The Thomas Jefferson University women's tennis team exacted some revenge on nationally-ranked foe Queens College, this time coming out on the winning side of a 4-3 tilt.
The difference proved to be the Rams' success in doubles action, heading into the singles matches with the edge. Just like last week's match, the Rams split singles matches with the Knights but were able to come out victorious based on a 2-1 edge in doubles. Veteran players
Anouk Oderkerk (Stenungsund, Sweden / Nösnäsgymnaseit) and
Alycia Veroux (Ehlange-Sur-Mess, Luxembourg / CNED) won a tightly contested first doubles match 7-6, beating the same top team from Queens albeit by a narrower margin.
This time, however, Head Coach
Fred Perrin made adjustments to the second and third doubles teams that went on to pay off. The rematch saw junior transfer
Kalomoira Ralli (Athens Greece, Grand Valley State) pair with sophomore
Madina Omarova (Astana, Kazakhstan / Flagman Physics-Technical School) and form a winning combination at third doubles, overpowering their opponents, 6-2. Ralli went on to earn a key win at fourth singles 6-3, 5-7, 6-4, while Oderkerk also needed three sets to close out her opponent and assert her dominance as one of the top players in the region.
Coach Perrin and the Rams will look to make it three in a row when they host Chestnut Hill College in CACC play on Saturday, Sept. 19.
