BELLE VERNON, Pa. (Sept. 5, 2026) – The Thomas Jefferson University men's golf team opened its 2026-27 campaign at the weather-shortened Vulcan Invitational held at Cedarbrook Golf Course.
Just two strokes separated 16 golfers in the middle of the leaderboard. Two of those golfers were Jefferson's freshman
Eduardo Villarejo and senior
Jaden Minter. Villarejo, making his Rams debut this weekend, was consistent, shooting 3-over (75/75) over both days of competition. Minter, a mainstay in the Rams' squad, posted the best Jefferson round of the day by shooting 1-over par that had him just outside the top-20 heading into Day 2. He posted par on 13 of those holes and birdied twice on the back-nine to put him in that position.
Head Coach Nick Nguyen and the Rams will return to action at the WCU Battlefield Classic, set to be contested at the Links of Gettysburg in Gettysburg, Pa. between Sept. 20 and 22.
