Women's Soccer Claims the Quarterfinal Victory Over Holy Family University  

 

PHILADELPHIA, PA - Thomas Jefferson University women's soccer (15-1-2) (11-0) competed against Holy Family University in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) playoff action on Monday, November 11. The Rams defeated the Tigers in the quarterfinal match 2-1.  

 

WHAT HAPPENED 

• The Rams kicked off the first half with shots taken by both Kyra Lesko, missed left and Kiery Spatz, missed right  

• Mia Ferrara also getting involved early takes a bottom left shot that is saved by Jaina Preuhs 

• At the 15:23 minute Lesko finds success and claims the Rams first goal of the match, assisted by Alexa Callahan and Nikki Dedes  

• Within the next minute Dedes goes for another shot in the top right corner, but saved again by Preuhs  

• The Tigers try to generate some action with a shot from Kayla Balisalisa but missed  

• Gianna Garozzo also takes a shot nearing the end of the half, but Preuhs is ready to claim her 5th save of the match  

• The Tigers final attempt to score results in Liv Riddel's 1st save of the match, leaving the Rams ahead 1-0 heading into the second half  

• Ferrara again seeking success early on takes a shot on goal, but Preuhs holds the backline  

• Maddie Maguire can put the Tigers on the leader board with a goal in the 53:22 minute tying up the match  

• Within the next five minutes Spatz answered with earning the Rams another goal putting Jefferson up 2-1  

• Abby Cargile and Dillan Sorino both getting in on the action takes shots on goal, and Preuhs claims her 7th and 8th saves  

• Maguire in an attempt to tie up the match and head into overtime takes a shot on goal, but Riddel is ready for the save leaving the Rams on top 2-1 and taking the quarterfinal victory in CACC playoff action
