Lakewood, NJ- The Philadelphia University Lady Rams (25-21, 13-11 CACC) won the first game of the day 7-0 over the #7 east-regionally ranked and tournament #1 seeded Dominican College Chargers (39-14, 22-2 CACC) but fell 5-1 to Bloomfield College to be eliminated from the CACC Softball Tournament.

Freshman catcher Katie Renner (Berryville, VA/ Brunswick) blasted a three-run shot in the top of the third inning to give the Lady Rams a 3-0 lead and junior outfielder Kristyn Loughery (Phoenixville, PA/ Phoenixville) added her first round-bagger of the year with a two-run homer in the top of the fourth to give PhilaU a 5-0 advantage.

PhilaU junior infielder Maggie Desmond (Bayport, NY/ St. John the Baptist) added a solo shot in the top of the fifth and junior third baseman Kristin Giamatteo (Bellmore, NY/ Wellington Mepham) singled in junior outfielder Jen Richard (Millstone Twp., NJ/ Allentown) to bring in the Lady Ram's final run of the game and clinch the 7-0 shutout win.

In the second game the #6 Lady Rams faced #3 seeded Bloomfield for the second time in the Tournament, but the Deacons took a 3-0 lead after three innings on three hits and two PhilaU errors.

The Lady Rams broke their silence in the top of the fifth inning as sophomore outfielder Katie Desmond (Bayport, NY/ St. John the Baptist) got on with a ground rule double and scored on an error by the BC second baseman to make it 3-1.

BC added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth-the first on a botched run-down play  and then on an RBI double to take a lead 5-1 they would hold on to for the win.

Freshman pitcher Amber Beauchemin (Galloway, NJ/ Absegami) went 1.2 innings, while sophomore hurler Randi Wozniak (Newtown Sq., PA/ Newtown Marple) went 4.1 innings for PhilaU.
