West Chester, PA- The Philadelphia University
men's tennis team (17-5, 9-2 CACC) swept non-conference rival
West Chester University (7-9) in a non-conference match on Saturday
morning.
The Rams did not give up a point, dominating WCU in singles
through doubles.
Highlights of the day included junior Seppi
Hutter (Bellevue, WA/ Bellevue) getting a 6-0, 6-1 win at
#5 singles and earning a #3 doubles victory with junior teammate
Tom McAvoy (Phoenixville, PA/ Phoenixville) 8-0.
Also taking charge was #1 singles sophomore Adrian
Torroella-Cruz (Gainesville, FL/ Gainesville) who beat
WCU's John Howanski 6-1, 6-1 and picked up a #1 doubles win
with sophomore teammate Manoli Sgouros (Forest
Hills, NY/ Holy Cross) 8-0.
The Rams return to the Abraham J. Salaman'58 Courts
tomorrow (4/18) as they host their final regular season match of
the year vs. Post University at 1:00 p.m.
