Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University
Rams (19-6, 10-2 CACC) fell in the Central Atlantic Collegiate
Conference (CACC) Men's Tennis Championship 5-0 to the
Concordia College Clippers (22-3, 12-0 CACC) on Thursday afternoon
at Chestnut Hill College.
The Rams, the defending CACC Champions from 2009, will now await
word on a possible NCAA East Regional bid. The NCAA Regional
will be held on May 6, 7 or 8th, at a site to be
determined.
In the CACC finale, the Rams played tough in doubles picking up
11 games but it wouldn't be enough. The PhilaU #1
doubles sophomore team of Adrian Torroella-Cruz
(Gainesville, FL/ Gainesville) and Manoli Sgouros
(Forest Hills, NY/ Holy Cross) fell 8-5.
In singles, the Clippers picked up two singles victories, as
PhilaU #5 sophomore Eric Guerrero (Lawrence, MA/
Central Catholic) fell 6-0, 6-0 and #6 junior Seppi
Hutter (Bellevue, WA/ Bellevue) took a 6-2, 6-1 loss.
