- Philadelphia University women's tennis team (3-4,
2-2 CACC) lost their second-straight conference match of the season
on Wednesday. Neighboring Chestnut Hill College (5-4, 4-2 CACC)
downed the Rams, 7-2, at the Abraham J. Salaman '58 Tennis Courts.
PhilaU freshman Elizabeth
Verbits turned in two winning performances
against the Griffins. In singles play, Verbits, #5, topped Kristen
Wasson, 6-2, 6-2, to improve her record to 5-2.
In doubles action, Verbits and fellow freshman Kaitlin
MacQueen, PhilaU's #3 duo, defeated Chestnut
Hill's Wasson/Regina Doherty, 8-5.
The team will return to action on Thursday (9/30) when they host
the University of the Sciences. The match is scheduled to start at
4 p.m.
