Rams knocked off by Southern New Hampshire, 6-3

PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia University men's tennis team suffered a 6-3 setback to visiting Southern New Hampshire, 6-3, in a non-conference match Friday afternoon at the Legacy Youth Tennis Center.

Philadelphia is now 1-1 this season, while Southern New Hampshire goes to 3-0.

Nail Rachidi and Long Vo scored all three points for the Rams in the match against the Penmen.

Rachidi and Vo teamed up to earn a victory in the No. 2 doubles match, 8-3, over Evan Eaton and Jared Wright.

Then, Rachidi and Vo picked up straight-set wins in singles action. Rachidi was challenged by Wright in the No. 4 match, and managed to earn a 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 win. Vo had a bit of an easier time in the No. 6 match as he knocked off Tim Hamilton 6-1, 7-5.

Philadelphia will now compete in the three-day Intercollegiate Tennis Association East Regional Championship from Saturday, Sept. 22 through Monday, Sept. 24 on the Abraham J. Salaman Courts and at the Legacy Youth Tennis Center.
