Men's tennis falls to host West Chester, 6-1

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Philadelphia University men's tennis team was defeated by host West Chester, 6-1, in a non-conference match Thursday afternoon on the South Campus Courts.

Senior Ayman Barakat (Kharkiv, Urkaine/Kharkiv Specialized English School #3) earned Philadelphia's (0-3) first point of the 2013-14 season with a come-from-behind win, 0-6, 6-4, 1-0 (11-9) against Jared Howatt in the No. 1 singles match.

When the match was called due to darkness, sophomore Chris Casamassima (Franklin Square, N.Y./St. Mary's) was ahead of Patrick McGinley, 6-4, 3-3, at No. 4 singles.

Philadelphia returns to the court on Sunday, Oct. 6 with a home non-conference match against St. Thomas Aquinas at 1 p.m.
