Rams go 1-1 on third day of action at the Snowbird Classic

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Philadelphia University softball team went 1-1 for the second straight day at the Snowbird Classic on Wednesday. After falling to Gettysburg in the opener, 7-1, the Rams outslugged Juniata for a 15-5 five-inning victory.

Twenty-four hours after picking up her first collegiate victory, freshman pitcher Samantha Corey (Londonderry, N.H./Londonderry) earned her second complete game victory. Junior second baseman Meaghan Lewis (Binghamton, N.Y./Chenango Valley) connected for a solo home run, her second of the season, in the fourth inning.

In the opener, Philadelphia (5-7) scored its only run of the game on a single by freshman first base Emilia Cantrell (Pipersville, Pa./Central Bucks E.).

Philadelphia wraps up its spring break trip on Thursday, March 14 SUNY IT at 9 a.m. and Swarthmore at 11 a.m.
