Box Score MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Philadelphia University men's tennis team picked up its second win in 24 hours as it knocked off host Millersville, 9-0, in a non-conference match Thursday afternoon on the McComsey Tennis Courts.
Philadelphia is now 6-7 overall and extends its winning streak to three. Millersville drops to 2-7.
In doubles action, the No. 1 team of Nail Rachidi (Meknes, Morocco/Emile Anouar) and Ayman Barakat (Kharkiv, Ukraine/Kharkiv Specialized English School #3) and the No. 2 tandem of Kyle Burke (Wakefield, R.I./South Kingston) and Chris Casamassima (Franklin Square, N.Y./St. Mary's) won their respective matches by an 8-2 score. Long Vo (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton Area) and Dlyan Bhaerman (Columbus, Ohio/Pickerington North) won the No. 3 match over Dylan Ryan and Anthony Jadus, 8-3.
Burke cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 win over Jody Sambrick in the No. 1 singles match. After dropping the first set of his No. 2 match 6-4, Rachidi rebounded to take the final two sets 6-4, 1-0 (10-2) to knock off Tucker Mertz. Bhaerman fought off Ryan 7-6, 6-4 to claim the No. 3 singles match.
Casamassima defeated Tran in his No. 4 match 6-1, 6-2. Vo won the No. 5 match against Niko Mucci, 6-1, 6-1. In the No. 6 match, Matthew Germani (Blackwood, N.J./Highland Reg.) was a 7-6, 6-3 winner over Anthony Jadus.
Philadelphia visits West Chester for a non-conference match on Thursday, April 4 at 4 p.m.
