PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia University women's tennis team wrapped up its 2012-13 season with an 8-1 loss to host Chestnut Hill in a non-conference match Wednesday afternoon on the Chestnut Hill Tennis Courts.
Philadelphia's lone point came in dramatic fashion thanks to the No. 1 doubles team of Kaylee Fennern (Idaho Falls, Idaho/Bonneville) and Sayre Limburg (New London, N.H./Proctor Academy). Facing a 7-1 deficit against the fourth-ranked team in the region of Nastia Shcherbakova and Maria Parapouras, Fennern and Limburg rallied to win the final eight games and take the match, 9-7.
The Rams finished the season with an overall record of 12-9, a one win improvement over last year's total. Chestnut Hill, ranked fourth in the East region, improves to 18-8.
