Men's tennis swept by Chestnut Hill, 9-0

PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia University men's tennis team was swept by visiting Chestnut Hill, 9-0, in its first dual match of the 2013-14 season Wednesday afternoon on the Abraham Salaman Courts.

The No. 3 doubles team of sophomore Dylan Bhaerman (Columbus, Ohio/Pickerington North) and junior Long Vo (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton Area) put up a solid performance, but fell 8-4 to the tandem of Kevin Taylor and Devin Hampton.

In singles, it was junior Nail Rachidi (Meknes, Morocco/Emile Anouar) who was the highlight for the Rams (0-1). Playing at No. 4 singles, Rachidi was defeated by Mike Humes, 6-2, 6-3.

Philadelphia heads to Division I La Salle for a non-conference match on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 10 a.m.
