Men's tennis get back on track with 8-1 win at Cabrini

RADNOR, Pa. – The Philadelphia University men's tennis snapped its five-match losing streak with an 8-1 win at Cabrini in a non-conference match Wednesday afternoon on the Dixon Courts.

The Rams (4-8) got off to a fast start by going 3-for-3 in doubles action.

Ayman Barakat (Kharkiv, Ukraine/Kharkiv Specialized English School #3) and Long Vo (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton Area) picked up an 8-0 win over Cabrini's (0-10) Joe Pacifico and Colin Kilroy in the No. 2 match. In the No. 3 flight, Matthew Germani (Blackwood, N.J./Highland) and Juan David Velosa (Bogota, Columbia/Gimnasio Campestre San Rafael) cruised to an 8-0 triumph against Joe Halbherr and mike Halbherr.

Dylan Bhaerman (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington North) and Chris Casamassima (Franklin Square, N.Y./St. Mary's) were 8-2 winners over Anthony DiCicco and Sean Neary in the No. 1 match.

Vo opened singles play with a 6-0, 6-0 win against Kilroy in the No. 4 flight.

Velosa earned his first singles win of the spring by claiming the No. 5 match against Joe Halbherr 6-0, 6-1.

Barakat and Germani were victorious in the No. 1 and No. 6 match, respectively, by the score of 6-2, 6-0.

Casamassima was a 6-1, 6-1 winner over Pacifico in No. 2 singles action.

Philadelphia hosts Post for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match on Friday, April 11 at 3:30 p.m.
