Box Score BROOKEVILLE, N.Y. – The Philadelphia University women's soccer team was defeated by LIU Post, 3-0, in a non-conference match played Thursday afternoon at the Pioneer Soccer Park.
Susanne Vistnes opened the scoring at the 27:33 with her 13th goal of the year. Klara Berggren started the sequence with a through ball ahead to Vistnes at the right side of the penalty area. Vistnes cut in and beat Courtney Shaw (Langhorne, Pa./Villa Joseph Marie) to the far post for the goal.
Shaw made three saves in the opening half for the Rams (5-8-0).
The match remained at 1-0 until LIU Post (9-2-2) struck twice in a 4:43 span to increase the gap to 3-0. Hillevi Eklow made the score 2-0 with a goal, her second of the season, at 60:21 as she chipped the ball into the net after receiving a pass from Vistnes. Klara Berggren volleyed a Sarah Kang crossing pass inside the right post at the 65:04 for the third goal. It was Berggren's third of the year.
Shaw finished the match with five saves in 76:12 of action. Erin Tinneny (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) finished out the final 13:48 and stopped one shot. For LIU Post, Felicia Orderud made one save.
The Rams were outshot by the Pioneers 16-3.
Philadelphia heads to Nyack for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match on Saturday, Oct. 17 at noon.
