Box Score PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia University men's tennis team picked up its first win of the 2015-16 season as it knocked off visiting Cabrini, 8-1, in a non-conference match on the Abraham Salaman Tennis Courts Wednesday afternoon.
Philadelphia (1-1) was awarded three points right out of the gate thanks to Cabrini (0-1) only having four players available.
The No. 1 doubles team of James Pollard and Christian Valle picked up an 8-3 victory over Sean Jaeger and Alijah Broadnax. Juan Velosa and Sean DeBlasio were victorious by an 8-1 score against Colin Kilroy and Mike Halbherr in the No. 2 doubles match.
Pollard started off singles play with a 6-0, 6-0 victory against Kilroy at No. 3. In the No. 4 match, John Perfetti defeated Halbherr 6-1, 6-0. Breer recorded the Rams' final victory as he was a 6-3, 6-2 winner over Jaeger at No. 1.
Philadelphia returns to action with a non-conference home match against St. Thomas Aquinas on Friday, Oct. 2 at 3 p.m.
